If we are to have a sustainable future, we need to reassess our values. Present Sense does that for gift giving. We believe the value of a gift is the thought and love which goes into it, not its financial and environmental price tag.
So let's make it commonplace to give gifts that do not cost the earth; gifts that are recycled, homemade, not newly manufactured and still great to receive!
Why shouldn't sustainable gift giving be as cool as buying 'vintage' clothes, finding household items from Freecycle or running your car on chip fat. We all accept recycling as part of our everyday lives; why not gifts too?
The aim of the website is to provide support, ideas and sources for everyone of a like mind - to provide a place to share your inspiration and knowledge.
The specially designed first edition Present Sense gift label is a way to spread the word about giving gifts which are better than new. Proceeds also enable us to develop this site and other projects to make giving sustainable.
